Omar Garcia’s, Je cherche un Feeling. The film’s cinematic elegance is pierced through by the loneliness a young gay American student experiences while studying in Paris. In search of intimacy—a feeling—the student turns to Grindr, only to discover such encounters leave him bereft and deeply saddened. Je cherche poses the contradictions of “Paris.” It is the city of love, beauty, and intellectualism while it pairs equally with loneliness, deceit, and cruelty. The film was shot in Paris and completed in Brooklyn. His Paris crew include Sam Goslin, Carmine Mazza, Jacob Klipstein, Brendan Hall, and Justice Pinzon.
